IELTS Writing Task 1 table: select data without listing everything
How to write an IELTS Task 1 table report: choosing key figures, grouping rows and columns, and writing a clear overview.

The short answer
Tables contain too much data on purpose — your score depends on choosing the highest, lowest and most notable figures.
Select, don't copy
Circle the largest and smallest values and any row that behaves differently. These become your overview and body paragraphs.
Group rows or columns
Group countries, years or categories that share a pattern. Two body paragraphs are enough.

Check accuracy
Misreading a figure lowers Task Achievement. Re-check every number and unit before finishing.
